INTERVALS is a multimedia art festival that takes place annually in Nizhny Novgorod with participants from all over the world. Light, both literally and figuratively, is the central theme of the 2022 festival, which is reflected in graphics and materials. Translating the inner light outward, we unite people, erase language boundaries.

The international festival of media art INTERVALS

Traditionally takes place in Nizhny Novgorod, and the geography of its participants covers Russia, the USA, Europe and Asia. The mission of the festival is to make media art understandable and accessible to all viewers without exception.



INTERVALS is a large-scale free media exhibition that takes over the most resonant architectural landmarks and urban spaces, a multi-format educational program and a series of audiovisual performances and musical events.

Festival 2022

in 2022, INTERVALS marked its 5th anniversary featuring media artists from Russia, Japan and Turkey. Over 100,000 people visited the festival in 2022.


The main program was preceded by a teaser event which launched the interaction of media artists with the renewed urban landscape of Nizhny Novgorod and the exploration of new opportunities for the city after a recent mass refurbishment.

Scope of work

INTERVALS is a large-scale festival that takes place three days a year and is presented in the brightest and most unusual locations. We developed a printed map that easily helped to navigate through all the installations and locations of the city. As part of the work on visual communication, social media, navigation, website, uniforms and merch were worked out for both the team and guests.
